"I met Defence Tech during my Master's degree and I never left. Interview with Claudia Azzutti, System Engineer of the Space area of the Defence Tech group.
From her first steps into the university world, Claudia Azzutti already knew that her destiny would be to working in the world of Space. A project that, step by step, became reality with Defence Tech.
After the degree in Physics and Astrophysics a three-year degree at the University of Florence and a master's degree in Astrophysics and Astronomy at La Sapienza University of Rome, Azzutti attended the second-level master's degree 'Space Science and Technology' at Tor Vergata University.
There he had his first meeting with Defence Tech, with a 6-month internship that was only the beginning of his journey. Today Azzutti works in the strategic Space area, within the Galileo Second Generation project and deals with system-related engineering activities, from supporting the definition of the architecture, requirements analysis and interfaces, modelling use cases and defining the concept for some of Galileo's main functionalities to supporting system verification activities.
"What gratifies me most is being able to work in the professional sector in line with my university studies. The space sector is dynamic and constantly evolving, allowing me to test myself every day with new challenges and goals. It is a stimulating job, where nothing is taken for granted or impossible."
An ambition and specific expertise that finds a good support network in the multidisciplinarity that characterises Defence Tech. "One of Defence Tech's strengths is the fact that it is a strategic and solid company in a variety of sectors, from Defence to Space and Cybersecurity. On this last point, in particular, Defence Tech is able to realise solutions capable of improving the security of systems and entire infrastructures and to face the dangers of cyber crime, which are becoming more and more insistent".
In her spare time, Claudia's greatest passion remains beach volleyball, which she plays at least once a week. And then there are her friends, with whom she can share a game of board games and to whom she can tell (as far as possible!) about her exciting days of work.
