NEXT Ingegneria dei Sistemi SpA was awarded a contract by Thales Alenia Space-Italy to design three electronic devices on board the Earth Return Orbiter (ERO) satellite.
The ERO satellite belongs to Mars Sample Return (MSR), a joint NASA-ESA space programme based on three complex missions to Mars.
Perseverance - NASA's first - is fully operational on the surface of Mars.
ERO - ESA's latest - will leave Earth in ten years' time to bring back samples of the soil and atmosphere of Mars.
Our Electronics Laboratory will develop the project with the support of our partner MICROSIS srl, up to the qualification phase expected by the end of 2022.
