Interview of President Aurelio Regina with La Repubblica

Aurelio Regina, President of the Defence Tech Group, gave a detailed interview to la Repubblica in which he describes the results achieved so far and the prospects for the future of the company.

The share price has risen steadily, reaching 70% since its listing on Euronext Growth Milan on 29 October 2021. So says Regina, interviewed for Affari & Finanza: "We quoted ourselves at EUR 3.5 and after 6 months we are steadily at EUR 5 with even peaks of EUR 6, we have revenues that are not growing exponentially but show great profitability. Our revenues are EUR 17.3 million or + 29% compared to the 2020 budget, our adjusted EBITDA is EUR 6.7 million or + 90% compared to the 2020 budget, and our net profit is accelerating strongly at EUR 3.7 million or + 370%. Defence Tech is an 'intelligence factory' that creates proprietary software dedicated to the world of security, defence and space. Its collaborations currently include one with the National Cybersecurity Agency, established in August 2021 and chaired by Roberto Baldoni, in a public-private partnership that aims to better track cyber attacks.

In 2021 alone there will be more than 1,000 of them in Italy, and few companies, including Defence Tech, are able to create scalable products that meet the cybersecurity demands of large, national security-relevant organisations.

300 employees, of whom 70% are engineers, work in close contact with universities and research centres, drawing on a pool of young, well-trained professionals capable of working in such complex fields.

In the interview, Regina also talks about the security required and felt in these times of war. "Working on cyber is never a peaceful situation, the world is increasingly at risk and attacks on computer networks, whether by companies or states, are equally serious for everyone, although undoubtedly the current conflict shows how important investment in technology is at a time in history when everything is changing besides the wars due to the Anonymous attacks and this makes security a priority for Europe.

Finally, the chairman of the Defence Tech group comments on possible future developments of the holding company. "In its latest business plan, Defence Tech envisaged new acquisitions of products and realities in the three sectors in which it operates, namely defence, space and cyber security. The peculiarities of our business, the strategic nature that we are recognised by our customers and institutional partners, the recent accreditations we have received, combined with the actions taken during the year, give us hope that we will not only achieve all the planned objectives, but also succeed in making our group grow even more than expected in the coming years. Our country needs to implement an industrial strategy in the defence and national security sectors, and for this reason we are already working on future alliances for the creation of a national industrial cluster.
