Last 15 May Italy has run out of the planet's natural resources planned for consumption in 2022.
This means that, with 7 months to spare, we are already 'virtually' using the resources needed to survive to 2023.
Every year, Earth Overshoot Day comes earlier and earlier. As long as we remain too far behind. And this awareness, to date, seems to touch no one really, seems to remain anchored in theoretical discussions that have little consequence in reality.
At Defence Tech, the environmental issue is becoming increasingly important. This is because, over the years, we are learning to carefully evaluate each production choicealso based on the environmental impact that our work generates.
Have we already done everything we can?
No, not yet.
But we are aware that there is still much to be done. We are aware that we have a role in all this, which is to use technology to protect and save the planet, not to ruin it by pretending the problem does not exist.
Today is World Environment Day and we want to try to share these intentions that we feel are strong. We cannot fail to act. It is time to take responsibility and this applies to companies, to nations, to individuals in their daily lives.
