According to the International Energy Agency's World Energy Outlook 2024, global demand for electricity has grown at twice the rate of overall energy consumption over the past ten years.
In Italy, according to Terna SpA, 6 GW of new renewable capacity was installed in the first ten months of 2024, bringing the total to about 707,000 installations with a total capacity of 11,783 MWh.
Despite this progress, the growth of renewable energy sources is still too slow to achieve climate neutrality targets by 2050.
Our Group is implementing increasingly sustainable practices and technologies: in 2021, our energy needs were 34.66% covered by renewable sources, 49.51% in 2022, 53.70% in 2023 and, finally, the 62% in 2024.
