In the latest issue of Defence Information (6-2025), the official journal of the Ministry of Defence, published an in-depth article on the side-channel attacks (SCA), an increasingly significant threat to the security of cryptographic devices used in the military and the protection of sensitive information.
I Side-Channel-Attack (SCAs) compromise data confidentiality by analysing unintentional physical emissions, such as power consumption, computing time or electromagnetic emissions, to trace protected information.
This is the background to the SCA SHIELD' projectsupported by the National Military Research Plan (PNRM) and assigned to Next, a group company. The goal is to build an advanced platform to test the resilience of cryptographic devices against these threats.
