The new IP cipher created in collaboration between Defence Techwho took care of the software part, and Leonardo Electronic Divisionresponsible for the design of the hardware part and the production of the serial equipment in order to ensure full control of the new product by the national industrial chain.
The objective of the new cipher is raising the security level of Italian Defence computer networks, of Institutional and Governmental Bodies that are part of the 'National Cyber Security Perimeter' and large and structured companiesthrough the use of state-of-the-art encryption algorithms and the implementation of post-quantum encryption algorithms, which can also withstand attacks from quantum computers.
The presentation event involved Defence Tech, Leonardo and a number of institutional figures, as well as partners and customers who got a preview of the product's features.
The Quantum Resistant IP cipher will be developed both in a 'commercial' version intended for customers who need to protect sensitive but unclassified information and in a version dedicated to the protection of classified information (up to the RESTRICTED level).
