Today we celebrate the World Human Space Travel Day.
This date commemorates the first orbital flight performed by a man (Yuri Gagarin, in 1961) and aims to raise awareness of the importance of the scientific and technological contribution made by space missions.
All experiments that are conducted in orbit also positively influence our life here on Earth: from medicine to robotics, from meteorological monitoring to the development of communications and security.
That is why it is so important to remember 12 April.
